Job Description
A bit about the role
We’re looking for somebody who loves building stuff, particularly in unchartered territories. If you don’t know it, you learn it, wrestle with it and solve it.
We’d like you to be crafty with your code, understand UI/UX and be able to work with anything from an outline concept to detailed schematics.
To give you a broader picture of where we are; we already have an iOS app in the works and are keenly planning further web app and Android releases. Your work will be part of a unique and defining toolset for video interactivity.
A bit about us
We’re wireWAX – a tool that allows anyone from mobile phone users in the street to some of the biggest brands on the planet to add motion-tracking tags to people and objects in-video. We create these digital reference points dynamically, in a cloud based WYSWIG tool and they can be used to bring in relevant information/media/commercial opportunities on a viewer clicking/touching.
The technology originated in television production and prides itself as putting some leading edge vision research into practice in the most real-world of scenarios… peoples hands. wireWAX is currently used by thousands of users, including Nike, Tommy Hilfiger (http://bit.ly/ntJS5H), Rip Curl (http://bit.ly/sGtWks), music labels, including EMI (http://bit.ly/nMnCHP) and broadcasters ITV and Channel 4.
We’re a small and growing team of dedicated peoples based on the South Bank of the Thames in the historic Borough Market.
Some Key requirements
+ Experience in developing native iOS and Android apps as well as web apps for cross-device applications.
+ Demonstrable experience, whether on commercial apps or personal projects is fine. But, we gotta see something.
Also Useful to the role
+ Some experience in using Adobe AIR on mobile or tablet devices (especially the iPad) or adapting ActionScript for the AIR platform is a bonus.
+ General coding experience, can put your brain to work on other languages should the need arise.
Personal Requirements
+ We’d like you to fit with the relaxed (Spotify playlists welcome!), yet highly focused and agile approach. You’ll be under pressure at times, and need to understand deadlines and have the willingness to do whatever it takes to deliver.
+ You’ll be working as part of a team, but at the same time you’ll need to be fairly autonomous and take responsibility for your patch.
