Job Description
Cogito is a 4-year-old software company developing a fundamentally new way of analyzing and understanding human communication and perception. We use advanced signal processing and computational engineering to draw out social signals exchanged in conversation. These signals describe distress, intent, and attitude and allow our enterprise clients to dramatically improve the value of their customer interactions. Cogito has an expanding top-tier client base in the healthcare sector, has an experienced technical and management team from MIT, is founder- and employee-owned, and is investing in growth.
Our company has recently begun a unique project that includes development of mobile applications supporting important health care monitoring programs for at-risk populations. We are currently seeking a brilliant software engineer with mobile expertise, including Android, to spearhead the many unique challenges associated with this project.
The ideal candidate is driven by the challenge of meeting ambitious levels of functionality in the resource-limited environment of a mobile platform and has an affinity for effective design at all levels, from user interfaces to back-end integration.
Role:
•Understand project requirements, specify interfaces, and design system.
•Develop mobile software and integrate with a number of back-end systems, delivering on time and to specification.
•Field-test mobile software in experimental setting, maintain and improve software to a production level.
Responsibilities:
•Participate in all aspects of design, implementation, integration, testing, and maintenance of mobile applications.
•Interact and collaborate with colleagues in engineering, research, operations, and sales to meet research program and company goals on various schedules.
•Interact and coordinate with affiliated university and business partners to integrate applications with component systems.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or other relevant field.
•Substantial experience developing mobile applications, including Android development. Portfolio required.
•Experience with user testing, development of user experience, and integration with backend systems.
•Experience with all phases of software lifecycle.
